about

The Danielle Holmes Yagjian Foundation (DHYF) was founded in the Spring of 2012.  DHYF was formed by the family and friends of Danielle Holmes Yagjian to carry out her wishes of helping others with cancer as well as their caregivers when they are in need.

At the young age of 28, Danielle was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma with the ELK gene, one of only 40 people diagnosed with this rare type of cancer.  Her one year battle included 12 rounds of chemo, 2 full body radiation treatments and a baby cord stem cell transplant.  One of Danielle's personal wishes was to be able to watch her son turn 1 years old, which she did! Danielle lost her battle on October 3, 2011.  She left behind her 14 month old son Cole, her husband Jared, of 3 years, and many family and friends.

During Danielle's battle with cancer, the outpouring of support from family, friends and even strangers was abundant. She always wanted to help others and her wish was to be able to do the same for others fighting cancer. The foundation was established in order to make her wish come true.

We put on a variety of fundraising events in the North Shore area so we are able to give monetary assistance to those fighting cancer. We understand that when you are being treated for cancer you are often unable to work and medical bills start piling up. It is difficult to focus on your treatments and getting better when you are worried about paying your bills.
