Introduction!

Hi there!

Welcome to our first blog!

Allow me to introduce us! 

Lenora Dawson, our DHYF President and mother to our beloved Danielle, started this organization in her daughter’s name after her passing in October 2011. Danielle was a brave, beautiful, and intelligent woman who would go above and beyond for anyone who crossed her path. So, it only makes sense that the one thing she wished was for us to help others in her honor. 

Since 2012 we have hosted various fundraisers with the goal of helping those battling cancer and/or their caregivers. Danae Wallace is our current Vice President and has contributed countless efforts into ensuring our organization runs smoothly and that patients are receiving the aid they require.

We would like to take this time to not only recognize but acknowledge the tremendous efforts put forth this year by our newest board members- Sabatina Calman, our secretary, and Sydney Robinson, our treasurer. Thank you both for the hard work and dedication you displayed.

With this, we would like to extend our appreciation towards all of our 2024 committee members, sponsors, donators, and supporters who helped us make our events a reality and help us help others - we could not do it without you!
